This Privacy Policy explains how Varsity Bite ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our platform. We are committed to handling your data securely and transparently, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and campus. When you place an order, we also collect your delivery location, order details, and payment method. We may also collect device and usage data to improve the Service.
3. How Delivery Locations Are Handled
Your delivery location is used solely to route orders to you via student riders. We share the delivery spot and contact details with the assigned rider only for the duration of fulfilling that order. Location data is not used to build advertising profiles and is not sold to third parties.
4. How Order Information Is Handled
Order history and transaction summaries are stored securely and linked to your account so you can review past orders and reorder favourites. Restaurants receive the order details needed to prepare your food. Payment is processed through secure payment providers — we do not store your full card details.
5. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to process and deliver orders, communicate about your orders, provide customer support, operate our loyalty and rewards programme, comply with legal obligations, and improve the Service. With your consent, we may send you promotional communications, which you can opt out of at any time.
6. Data Sharing
We share your information only with parties necessary to provide the Service — restaurants, assigned student riders, and payment processors. We may disclose information where required by law. We never sell your personal data.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can manage some of these settings within the app. For other requests, contact us through the app's support channels.
9. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Order records may be retained for accounting and tax purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated policy in the app. The date at the top reflects the last update.
